In November, a group of coyotes menaced a Decatur, Georgia home, targeting the owner's flock of sheep, as reported by 11Alive. Despite initial attempts to scare them away, the coyotes returned later that night.

Casper, the owner's Great Pyrenees herding dog, emerged as the shepherd's shield against the coyote threat. Engaging in a 30-minute battle, Casper successfully eliminated eight coyotes, prompting the others to flee. Initially feared lost, Casper returned, albeit severely wounded.
